Participation in the perfSONAR-PS project is open to all. To see a current listing of participants, please check the project members page. We are currently looking for help in the following areas:
- Software Packaging (BSD Ports, RPMs, DEBs)
- Software is currently available as RPMs for CentOS Linux (version 5, x86 Architecture).
- There is demand for packages on other platforms that we are unable to meet.
- Volunteers would build and test the releases for other operating systems.
- Volunteers would contribute these packages to the project's repositories.
- Software Testers/QA
- Testing software is vital to this project.
- Volunteers would be responsible for testing releases.
- Volunteers may devise test frameworks or unit test.
- Volunteers would contribute work back to the project.
- Documentation Reviewers/Translation
- All documentation is currently under review.
- Examples include guides for: developers, users, installation, extension.
- Volunteers would be responsible for reviewing and suggesting improvements.
- Translators could convert documentation from English to other languages.
- Service Developers
- Each function in perfSONAR comes from a specific service.
- Volunteers would contribute development time to create or improve existing services.
- Language proficiency in perl, python, or Java preferred
- Client Developers
- Client applications consume performance data.
- Volunteers would contribute tools capable of interacting with the perfSONAR framework
- Language proficiency in perl, python, C, or Java preferred
