perfSONAR-PS software is available as source and RPMs from http://software.internet2.edu. The perfSONAR-PS project supports
RPMs for the following operating systems and architectures only:
Source installation on other Linux distributions that support
Perl 5 is
common, but unsupported by the
perfSONAR-PS project. RPMs compiled for CentOS 5.5 have been used succefully on other Linux distributions
(e.g.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux,
Scientific Linux,
Fedora), installation and use is done so at the users own risk. Using x86 RPMs for the x86_64 architecture has been shown to work,
although compiling from source may give better results. The
perfSONAR-PS RPMs
may be converted into Debian package format using tools like
alien. Experience has shown that these tools
will easily install the package, but functionality may be diminished on the non-native operating system.
